Brickfield August Fieldtrip

Words by Katie Bunnell

Join us for a walk in clay country starting from the Brickfield site at Blackpool Pit, Trewoon, St Austell. With permission from Imerys we will be walking around the beautiful lake that now fills what was one of the largest china clay pits in the UK, taking in the unique landscape created by the process of china clay extraction, and where nature is reclaiming the post industrial landscape. On a clear day there are panoramic views across Cornwall.

We like to walk slowly, chat and take in the views and the wildlife. Please note we will decide on our final route and length of walk in response to weather conditions on the day.

Please bring a packed lunch, a bottle of water and wear suitable clothing and footwear for weather conditions and roughish terrain.

This is a free event and open to all walkers young and old. Please use the contact button below if you have any questions.
