Craft Stall Applications

The 2020 Whitegold Festival takes place in St Austell town centre on September 19. The Festival celebrates all-things clay, and in particular cultures of clay and those who use it in their creative work.

We’re looking for high quality craftspeople and craft sellers who would like a free stall at the upcoming Festival.  We’re looking in particular for artists whose work has a connection to clay, to kaolin, or to clay country – interpreting this in the broadest sense possible whilst retaining a genuine link to the culture of clay and clay country in Cornwall.  We are also looking for people who would be interested in giving a demonstration of their craft-making during the day’s events.

You will need to provide evidence of public liability insurance, and if you have your own table and/or gazebo this would be very helpful – if you are particular about having a specific gazebo, or in a specific colour, we recommend that you make arrangements to bring your own. Please note that none of the pitches have power, but that it is possible to accommodate your own generator if you are able to bring one.

About you

As this is an outdoor public event we are required to ask each participant artist to provide their own £5m public liability insurance. If you do not have insurance, submit your application anyway and we will be in touch about how to get insurance.
Please upload a copy of your public liability insurance

About your work

We'd like to ensure that there is a spread of prices available to visitors, many of whom will not be expecting to make a 'big purchase'. Can you give us an indication of your price spread?

Please upload 3 images that best represents your work, and in particular work that might be appropriate to this context. Please bear in mind that large images can take a long time to send, so reduce the size of your images if you’re having difficulty. Please ensure that the filename includes your own name (so that we can be certain which images belong to which artist!).

If you are selected to have a pitch at Whitegold, we will use the images and text that you have provided on our website.

Here at the Whitegold Festival of Clay we have a programme of live events and workshops.  We’re keen to include craft demonstrations during the day for people to get an insight into the main process, in particular how you’ve made pieces you’ve brought to sell.   We are aware that some of you will have experience in this, and some of you might be a little less experienced but interested in having a conversation about what’s involved and what you might demonstrate.

We should have a sufficient number of tables available, but we're asking in case you have your own.
We can only provide cover for a limited number of pitches. If you were able to bring your own gazebo it would be hugely helpful. Our gazebos are in a range of colours - most are not white. If you have a preference for a white gazebo, we recommend that you make arrangements to bring your own.
