Artist Marion Brandis is asking people living in St Austell to exercise their drawing talent to help create a new artwork for the town.
Cornish Honey Bee
One of the first public art commissions for St Austell will be the Cornish Honey Bee Tile mural which has been hand made by local residents of St Austell, artists, makers and HRH Prince Charles.
Matt Davis has been awarded the Tremen commission to create a ceramic art installation which will be displayed in St Austell Town Centre.
Sandy Brown has been awarded the Kres commission to create a ceramic art installation which will be displayed in St Austell Town Centre.
Marion Brandis free workshop – become part of the art
You can help make a new artwork for St Austell - Treudhow - with artist Marion Brandis at this drop in workshop at Wheal Martyn Clayworks. Create china clay tiles for the sculpture. Suitable to different levels of ability, and ages 5 - 99, making leaf tiles, either plain or decorated more complex elements. Dates to be confirmed for June.
Sandy Brown free workshop
Join famous ceramicist Sandy Brown who has been commissioned by Whitegold to make a significant artwork for St Austell. She will be sharing her skills and unique enthusiasm for all things clay as she develops ideas for a public art work. Suitable for all ages from 5 -99 and all abilities. Dates to be confirmed for June.

The artist is Cleo Mussi , possibly the best known and well respected mosaicist working in the UK. 'The Space Man' is created as part of a new series of work 'Mussi’s Herbal'.
Susan Elliott is a Hastings based artist working with mosaic materials. Susan has been commissioned to create a ceramic mosaic sculpture which will be displayed in the town centre of St Austell.
Jenny Beavan has been commissioned to create ceramic installations of clay country core samples which will be installed within the St Austell area.
For St Austell Simon is proposing a wall based work inspired by his previous series of ceramic pasties and the 100th anniversary celebrations in 2020 across Cornwall of its most famous pottery set up by Bernard Leach.
Studio Hotmess are two young designers/architects, Charlotte Moore from Cornwall and Maria Saeki from Japan. They have been briefed to respond to the frontage of Number 1 Fore St in St Austell.
Paul Jackson has been commissioned by the Whitegold Project and the St Austell Townscape Heritage Initiative to create a set of new ceramic planters for the historic Market House.
Georgia has been commissioned by the Whitegold Project to develop work with people in St Austell that responds to the site of a major new landscape work by Garden Curator Darren Hawkes at the western gateway to St Austell.
