Last week Betül Katigöz and assistant Yanni worked at Wheal Martyn museum to build, from scratch, a Turkish clay oven as used in traditional cooking. She will be coming back for the Whitegold Festival on September 30 where you will be able to cook using the oven.

The oven was carved by many of those visiting Wheal Martyn during the week, and here Yanni is painting them with a slip that will ‘cook in’ to the oven once it is heated up.  Visitors helped with that as well.
