This is Yanni. She’s one of Betül Katigöz’s assistants, helping her with the Turkish earth oven build at Wheal Martyn museum in Carthew (that’s just outside St. Austell).
Betül and the gang will be building the clay oven and then showing how to cook in it. You can help. This picture shows the very beginning of the process this morning, with the clay still to be mixed and the oven to be built. Later in the week we’ll show progress.
In the meantime take the kids and help build the oven! Open daily from 10-5.
